Questions about ETIAS
Do I need an ETIAS right now?
No. ETIAS is not running and no applications are being taken. Any site charging you for an ETIAS today is not selling you an ETIAS.
When will ETIAS start?
No date has been announced. The EU has said it will publish the start date several months before launch. We check the official source every day and email you as soon as it moves. More on our ETIAS status page.
How much will it cost?
€20 per application. Travellers under 18 or over 70 don’t pay the fee, but still need their own ETIAS.
Does my child need one?
Yes. Every traveller needs their own, children included. A parent or guardian applies for anyone under 18.
Does an ETIAS guarantee entry?
No. It’s an authorisation to travel, not a right of entry. Border guards always have the final say.
Is VIARYO official?
No. We’re not a government body and this site isn’t an official source. We read what the authorities publish, link to it and date every check. Where we disagree with them, they’re right.
Is it free?
The alerts are free. Early access means you try VIARYO before anyone else, and we’ll tell you about any price before you pay anything.
What do you do with my email?
We email you when a rule changes that may affect your trip, and when VIARYO early access opens. Nothing else, and never shared. Unsubscribe any time.
